Yoga Is Not Just a Practice

It's How We Live.

Trust Yourself. Breathe Deep. Move with Purpose.

My Journey into Yoga

Yoga found me before I even had a name for it. As a child, I stretched and breathed beside my mother after her workouts, unknowingly planting the seeds of a lifelong practice. Movement was my first language—I danced, I ran, and I explored the edges of my body’s abilities.

After high school, I entered the United States Army, a path that demanded resilience and discipline. But the body speaks its own truths, and mine called for healing after service-related injuries led to an honorable discharge. That call led me back to yoga.

Deepening My Practice & Teaching Journey

In 2015, I trained under Darryl Olive at KC Fitness Link, deepening my understanding of movement, breath, and stillness. My teaching journey has been as dynamic as my practice—bringing yoga to school staff stretched too thin, nonprofit teams carrying the weight of service, and mental health professionals who hold space for others but often forget to hold themselves.

Trauma-informed yoga became a pillar of my work, guided by my training with the Veterans Yoga Project. I have also taught Bikram Hot Yoga at Yoga Fix, expanding my ability to meet students where they are.

A Lifelong Seeker & Student

I exist in the liminal spaces—between movement and stillness, intellect and intuition, structure and flow. I am a lifelong seeker, drawn to the unseen threads that weave through our existence. My personal library overflows with books on philosophy, psychology, spirituality, and the human experience.

My studies continue as I pursue a 300-hour yoga teacher training and an MFA in Creative Writing at Naropa University. Currently, I am writing my first book—a collection of stories that explore the wisdom found in pain, the alchemy of transformation, and the sacred nature of resilience.

My practice is slow medicine. I gravitate toward restorative yoga, yin, and myofascial release—modalities that teach us to listen rather than force, to soften rather than strive. I hold space for students to come as they are, to hear the language of their own bodies, and to honor their own rhythm. No need to mirror your neighbor. No need to contort yourself into someone else’s version of ease. Here, you are invited to trust yourself.

Yoga as a Path to Self-Compassion

At the heart of my work is a commitment to self-compassion as a radical act—one that extends beyond the mat and into the way we move through the world. My two decades as a social worker inform everything I do, reminding me that healing is both personal and collective. Representation and inclusion are non-negotiable. I challenge my students to sit with the uncomfortable, to embrace the unorthodox, and to redefine what yoga means in their own lives. My hope is that something from our time together lingers—a breath, a moment, a shift—and that it carries you into your life with greater awareness, deeper presence, and an unshakable sense of belonging.
